Es3 – Space-based ADS-B and its use at EUROCONTROL

Space-based ADS-B uses a constellation of satellites equipped with Surveillance receivers, in order to receive the ADS-B messages transmitted by suitably equipped aircraft. It can therefore provide Surveillance coverage over the entire globe. The presentation will include the overview and the benefits of space-based ADS-B (safety, capacity, efficiency, predictability etc.), comparison w.r.t. ground-based ADS-B and the expected performance improvements for EUROCONTROL and its stakeholders.
